When you’re a part of Oakbrooke, you’re a part of history. We value where God has brought us from and where He is bringing us now. God has been faithful to us for more than 60 years.

Oakbrooke Bible Church began in 1954 as Calvary Baptist Church of Pontiac. For the first four years of our existence a faithful group of men and women met at the Waterford High School, then located at the corner of Highland Road (M-59) and Crescent Lake Roads in Waterford.

In 1958 ground was broken at our present location at the corner of Merry Street and Pontiac Lake Roads in Waterford. Within a few months the sanctuary was completed and the move was made from the high school to the new facility. Several years later an educational wing was added, followed by the Fellowship Hall with a full basement for additional educational space.

During our 60 year history the church has been led by multiple pastors: Rev. Henry Wrobbel, Rev. Keith Knauss, Rev. Roger Creamer, Pastor Steve Lewis , Paul Edwards, Pastor Dave Whiteaker, and Pastor Joseph Atwell. Starting in 2013 our leadership transitioned to a plurality of elders, during which Gene Austin assisted in the teaching office. Today our pastoral leadership consists of Pastors Dan Barth, Dane Bezemek, Darran Scrivner (joined the leadership in 2014) and Marian Diceanu (joined the leadership in 2015 and fulfills the Teaching Pastor role).

The facilities underwent an extensive remodeling in 2010. We changed our name from Calvary Baptist Church to Oakbrooke Bible Church on Sunday, May 23, 2010.
